Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support the development of initiatives to engage children via child friendly spaces and informal schools.
- Collect and collate information from post distribution monitoring of hygiene kits to understand preferences and inform contents.
- Support roll out of Clean Camp Campaign with WASH partners.
- Support handwashing with soap programming, identify handwashing infrastructure gaps and encourage top up hygiene kit distributions.
- Objective 3: Coordination and collaboration with others
- Activities:
- Support HP Coordinator with roll out of AWD preparedness activities at camp level including support with training of Rapid Response Teams.
- Support with intra-sectoral coordination to ensure hygiene promotion and community engagement are addressed by technical working groups.
- Support and represent HP at inter-sectoral coordination meetings at camp levels and Coxs Bazar when needed.
- Objective 4: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity
- Activities:
- Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary.
- Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries.
- Ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities.
- Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committees.
- Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
Educational Qualification:
- Master of Social Science (MSS)
- Advanced university degree or equivalent experience in Public Health or a relevant Social Science related discipline, or other field related to behavior change and communication.
Work Experience:
- At least 4 year(s)
Others Requirements:
- Knowledge of public health and one or more other relevant areas e.g.: behavior change, health promotion, community development, participatory approaches (i.e. PRA, CLTS/CATS, Child to Child);
- Experience of working with communities in hygiene promotion and community mobilization in relation to WASH;
- Demonstrated experience of leading hygiene promotion interventions;
- Substantial experience of working in emergency contexts, either with UN or NGO;
- A sound understanding of gender and protection;
- Familiarity with the Core Humanitarian Standards and the application of international and national WASH standards;
- Fluency in English and Bangla (verbal and written) and good spoken skills in Chittagonian would be an advantage.
