Program Officer - Prevention

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The Program Officer will contribute to the effective project implementation, coordinate relevant activities and maintain organized records and documentation in adherence with Winrock and USAID procedures.
  • Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with the Prevention and Communications manager to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of prevention project activities according to the approved workplan;
  • In collaboration with other staff, partners and survivors, design, test and disseminate communications materials for different types of audiences, including peer leaders, at-risk groups, survivors, and other stakeholders;
  • Develop strategic communications content including impact stories, infographics, social media commentary, videos, photo stories, newsletter, and other communication materials;
  • Collect required data and information to capture success stories of the BC/TIP program;
  • Monitor trafficking and migration news in media and assist in preparation of analysis reports;
  • Contribute to implementation of BC/TIP branding and marking plan in collaboration with USAID, government and other key stakeholders;
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of projects deliverables, including reports, in coordination with BC/TIP staff and implementing partners;
  • Assist in the implementation of BC/TIP public affairs activities including press and media communication, media database maintenance, and follow up media coverage;
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, quarterly and annual reports, newsletters, press-release and updates for the donor;
  • Conduct field visits to support and monitor the implementation of trafficking prevention activities;
  • Organize and maintain all records and files in accordance with Winrock and USAID requirements; and
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mass Communications, International Development, Social Science or other relevant discipline from any reputed University;

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • Minimum five years of professional experience in communications or program support in a development sector program (INGO/UN /USAID, preferred);
  • Experience working with international NGOs or UN agencies addressing trafficking-in-persons, migration, or other related issues in Bangladesh preferred;
  • Extensive experience organizing events highly desirable;
  • Knowledge of and experience with media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods;
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task to meet deadlines;
  • Flexible, self-motivated and able to work with little supervision;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and multi-cultural environments;
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, databases, graphics design software (like adobe illustrator), email and internet, Bengali Typing using Bijoy; and
  • Fluency in English and Bangla required.
