Child Protection in Emergencies Assistant (Response Programme)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and ensure teamwork among CFS volunteers and community outreach workers for greater ministry impact, in the community.
  • Support community based child protection groups, children groups and stake holders in advocating for child protection, participation, and psychosocial care.
  • Facilitate the integration of social cohesion activities with within the refugee settlements and host communities.
  • Handle visitors including donors, support office and national office staff, stakeholders, in line with the child protection policy and behavioral protocol .
  • Work with children, foster families and communities to design and deliver support for children in their communities and at the child friendly spaces according to the agreed plan of actions.
  • Provide information for projects design, implementation, monitoring and reporting
  • Mobilize community meetings with children and key stakeholders at all implementation levels
  • Build the capacity of Outreach facilitators, para PSS facilitators, community protection groups, parents on referral pathway to facilitate identification, documentation, creation of bio-database on monitoring follow-up of referred cases
  • Facilitate child protection case referrals, and data collection in line with the required and approved standards
  • Collect and compile statistical data and information regarding community child protection groups, community members and children participation in activities at the CFSs and children clubs.
  • Supervise CFS and multi-purpose centre implementation as per the minimum children in emergencies protection standards.
  • Facilitate community to establish systems aimed at strengthening community capacity in responding to child abuse cases in the refugee camps.
  • Mobiles communities to identify children at Risk including children with disabilities and also model families for the projects implementation.
  • Develop Activity reports.
  • Mentor and build the capacity of children leaders, community volunteers in child protection and peaceful coexistence.
  • Support communities, partners and children in maintaining the minimum standards for child participation and care.
  • Develop tools to manage data and information collection and analysis in establishing and maintaining a Monitoring and Evaluation adherences within the CFSs/multi-purpose child and adolescent centres
  • Regular updates and monitoring of the CFSs to ensure technical support is given in regard to play equipment and materials as per the child protection minimum standards.
  • Facilitate communities to fully participate in project activities for enhanced community ownership, peaceful coexistence and sustainability.
  • Facilitate advocacy forums led by children on issues affecting them. The forums are aimed at awareness creation and sensitization of communities

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in any discipline preferably in Social science/Social welfare/ Psychology/Anthropology/Law/Gender studies ia essential and Post graduate degree is desirable.

Work Experience:

  • At least 2 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • Knowledge on the Roaring refugee crisis and Response
  • Good conceptual and practical skill to design proposals and concept notes
  • Good knowledge and skills in budget forecasting and tracking
  • Good training or facilitation skills
  • Community engagement and participation
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Ability to speak Chittagong/Rohingya Bengali, English both written and verbal is an added advantage.
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation
  • Ability to work under stressful condition and adaptive to local culture and situation
  • Minimum of 2 years working experiences in the relevant field
  • World Vision experience referred
  • Must be willing and able to travel in camp location five days in a week.
  • Project locations are in remote areas in refugee camp. Staff is expected to live in his/her based location.
