Manager (Technical Sales)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the overall sales team performance for selling Shell marine lubricants in the Bangladesh local market.
  • Ensure that Marketing plan and Road To Market strategy are converted into goals and planned activities are delivered by the team.
  • Identify what drives customers and what Shell can offer to Portland as a Distributor Value Proposition to ensure a competitive edge in the Bangladesh local market.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of relationship with Shell Marine country sales manager based in Singapore.
  • Manage monthly demand forecast and Conduct monthly business reviews with the Portland Directors.
  • Provide sales support by visiting customers and troubleshoot any operational issues impacting customer experience, provide training and support as necessary.
  • Ensure that all customers interactions are properly logged and updated in the appropriate tool (Business Plan, review meetings, action plans, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance of Shell business principles and Shell QHSSE standards are maintained for barging, storage and trucking operations.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Marine Engineering, Master of Science (MSc) in Marine Engineering
  • Bangladesh Marine Academy
  • Marine Fisheries Academy

Work Experience:

  • At least 2 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • Bangladesh Marine Academy
  • Commercial skills in general, with proven track record in negotiation and dealing with external partners.
  • Working experience on board ships or technical related work experience in the Shipping sector or working experience with the marine engine OEM is desired.
  • Relevant sales experience will be an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationship at all levels.
  • Good knowledge in speaking and writing English.
  • This position is open to both male and female candidates.
