Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership and advice on gender to the Nobo Jatra Project, including coordinating a gender community of practice across all partners, and ensuring gender-sensitive monitoring, evaluation and learning. The Gender Manager will design and deliver gender trainings with a particular emphasis on addressing gender-based violence. S/he will oversee the roll-out of male engagement methodology throughout the areas where Nobo Jatra operates, including training of facilitators, contextualization of methodology, and ongoing support. Gender Manager will coordinate with key program staff, including managers and technical specialists, to ensure the implementation of gender strategies and gender integration into program activities.
  • Provide technical leadership on gender integration, monitoring, evaluation, accountability.
  • Provide support in building gender programming capacity and maintaining a community of practice across all partners.
  • Develop and participate in existing networks and partnerships with key stakeholders working on gender
  • Serve as the key point of contact for the team conducting the formal gender
  • Develop an action plan to incorporate recommendations from the gender analysis, ensuring GBV prevention is included in sectoral
  • Advise on and revise proposed strategies and activities.
  • Ensure quarterly and annual reports, monitoring and evaluation tools and methods reflect gender sensitivity.
  • Train staff on the delivery of gender-specific topics with particular emphasis on addressing sensitive issues including gender-based violence.
  • Develop an overall policy statement, strategy and action plan for endorsement by senior management, outlining the initial concrete actions to be taken by the department on a biennial basis, to be included in the programme budget.
  • Ensure programmatic alignment and reporting on gender-related targets as specified in the project M&E framework.
  • Capture and document learning on gender-related outcomes.

Educational Qualification:

  • Post - Graduate
  • Training/Trade Course: Gender,women empowerment

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • Strong spoken and written English
  • Demonstrate an understanding of gender equality, gender integration, and engaging men as agents of change and womens empowerment.
  • Ability to design gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Ability to guide the collection of gender sensitive monitoring and evaluation data, interpretation of results, and integration of findings into existing programming.
  • Ability to foster internal and external relationships for coordination and collaboration.
  • Strong management, problem solving, negotiation, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of World Visions operations at program level.
  • Understanding of World Visions vision and mission.
  • Understanding of the humanitarian industry.
  • Proven experience in Team Leadership and facilitation
  • Experience working USAID grants
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be willing and able to travel nationally up to 16 weeks per annum.
