Finance Officer -Payroll (Response Programme)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Payroll source data is appropriately authorized for payment
  • Process monthly staff payroll after computing and deducting income tax and other liabilities.
  • Deposit income tax to the National treasury, prepare annual tax return and submit it in due time.
  • Liaise with Staff and management on payroll related queries.
  • Ensure payroll administration – filing of inputs and all other payroll related documents.
  • Ensure all payroll data kept in Payroll software.
  • Collect Facilitators approved list and create facilitators profile ID in sun system and maintained compile standard information of the facilitators.
  • Set up of new Facilitator’s details are entered correctly and checked by P & C/ operation ensuring no data entry mistake
  • Ensure to open bank account of new Facilitators immediately.
  • Collect payment request of all facilitators with all supporting documents and calculate the remuneration/allowance.
  • Update and maintain the collected remuneration/allowance records.
  • Verify accuracy of Facilitators names and numbers, regular and daily, and account charged on appropriate projects. Remuneration is correctly entered in payment spreadsheet and database.
  • Prepare CD voucher for the facilitator’s remuneration monthly.
  • Hold all facilitators payment data in Sun Systems
  • Ensure payment for Rohinga Facilitators in appropriate manner.
  • Ensure filing, data backup and safe custody of all payroll related documents

Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in Commerce is essential and Post Graduate Degree in related field is preferred

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • Firm understanding of basic payroll principles Essential
  • Taking responsibility for the accuracy and the quality of all work output. Essential
  • Competent in use of computerized payroll processing software – Sun Systems/Excel/Access and should be able to work with MS word, excel. Essential
  • Acting on own accord; being proactive and self-motivated Preferred
  • Must have thorough knowledge of and commitment of World Vision, its Ministries, Vision and Mission Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith, Covenant of Partnership Preferred
  • Must have excellent inter-personal skills and communication skills in English and negotiation and administrative abilities. Preferred
  • Must be analytical person of integrity Preferred
  • Requires the ability to maintain team spirit and solving problems. Preferred
  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in Finance Essential
  • Experience with payroll administration and payroll Software Essential
  • This role requires working directly with the Finance Manager in a team environment is essential.
  • The Finance Officer (Payroll & Tax) must maintain and demonstrate a professional attitude and carry well inter-acting approach to all level of employees of WVB.
  • Team building skills and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment and also under deadline driven pressure.
