Accounts Officer

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The Accounts Officer is overall responsible for cash and ledger book, expenditure statement, preparing financial reports, bank ledger/statement.
  • He should ensure that the expenditures are being made as per financial policies and procedures.
  • Should explore possessing skill in problem identification, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Preparation of program budget guidelines in consultation with the program management staff.
  • Ensure payment of salary to the staff
  • Ensure payment to suppliers on time
  • Able to maintain software based accounting system (Tally)
  • Maintain records of fixed assets
  • Provide logistics support during training, meeting, workshop etc.
  • Maintain and check the log books of the motorcycles
  • Ensure security of the assets and office
  • Tracking of fund status for proper reporting and ensuring timely fund requests
  • Overall responsibility on resource allocation and Budget execution.
  • Certify & review monthly/quarterly expenditure report
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of the financial reports.
  • Ensure update the books of accounts on a regular basis.
  • Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act of the government of Bangladesh
  • Ensure compliance with VAT Act of the government of Bangladesh

Educational Qualification:

  • B.Com/ M.Com preferably in Accounting or MBA

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):

    Others Requirements:

    • Ability to ensure budgetary control
    • Familiar with soft-ware based accounting system
    • Strong critical and analytical thinking capabilities
    • Written and oral communications skills in English and Bengali
    • Computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Able to drive motorcycle and will have valid driving license.
