Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work plans and Budgets: Prepares and coordinates quarterly work plan budgets and monthly cash forecasts. Participates in the preparation of overall budgets, including partner budgets and sub-agreement budgets. Monitors the budget and all financial transactions for operations in consultation with the Finance Director. Tracks and monitors monthly expenditures against approved budget. Monitors adjustments to the annual budget when required.
- Guidance on Regulations, Restrictions and Requirements: Guides, advises and develops key stakeholders on budget preparation, donor regulations, grant restrictions, reporting requirements and the like. Ensures project staff are familiar and compliant with USAID and Pathfinder policies and procedures.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Delivers timely and accurate financial data capture for the country-specific operations by ensuring real time data capture, accuracy of transaction coding and processing, completeness of documentation, and prompt advance liquidation.
- Financial Reporting: Delivers timely and accurate financial reports including but not limited to MOR, bank reconciliations, petty cash certificates, pipelines, projections, accrual, annual VAT, statutory reports and financial analysis.
- Preparation of Statutory Returns and Reporting: Ensures the accurate and timely preparation of all statutory returns and reporting including but not limited to PAYE (monthly & annual), NSSF, NHIF, Withholding Tax, VAT and NGO Board reporting and subscriptions.
- Fund Requests and Invoices: Coordinates requests for funds, based on budget and cash flow projections, to ensure the project has all necessary funds for operations. Reviews sub invoices and approves invoices for payment.
- Payroll: Completes monthly analysis of staff time sheets. Monitors monthly payroll to ensure accuracy.
- Management and Supervision: Hires, trains, develops and supervises staff.
- Project Management and Participation. Leads, manages or participates on cross-functional project teams.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor degree in any discipline
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- Prefer: CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification
Work Experience:
- At least 5 year(s)
Others Requirements:
- 5 years experience in budgeting, accounting, reporting, financial analysis and overall financial management.
- At least 3 years in USAID financial management.
- Prefer: Previous work experience in an INGO in the health sector
- Prefer: Advanced business degree
- Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Analysis and Sound Judgement: Advanced analytical and trouble shooting skills. Ability to make sound judgments. Ability to improve processes, promote excellence and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
- Languages: Proven ability to write and speak using local language and English language
