Construction Supervisor

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field assessment, site planning, supervision and management of construction works;
  • Ensure work together with WFP Engineering team to deliver quality work within agreed deadlines.
  • Regular site visits to supervise construction works/processes and providing training to the Cash for Workers as and when required.
  • Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
  • Report all health & safety incidents and accidents
  • Ensure quality work during construction phase that comply with WFP standards.
  • Perform daily or regular housekeeping in the project working areas.
  • Reporting daily site diary to his/her line manager considering different constructions records (like, workforce, Consumption of materials)
  • Construction supervisor shall be responsible to track the schemes progress, track the consumption and requisition of materials and workforce.
  • Implement Heath Safety and Environmental plan in accordance with WFP guideline and /or other international standards.
  • Collect the GPS coordinates of the all sub-projects being implemented.
  • Consider disaster resilient features, gender sensitivity, inclusive approach as a cross cutting issues during all project phases.
  • Supervise the assistant construction colleague and volunteers and properly guide them in dealing with the beneficiaries during the implementation of the activities and the cash distribution

Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • Knowledge on computer operating system, estimation software and Auto CAD will be a preference.
  • Excellent coordination and management at the field level.
  • Able to use phone camera and WhatsApp/ other prescribed tools
  • Able to collect GPS coordinates
  • Knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards.
  • Chittagonian local dialect is a plus.
  • Willingness to accept frequent field visits. Driving motorbike with valid driving license is an asset.

  • Ability to cope up with work pressure and emergency context.
  • Ability to foster collaborative, transparent and accountable relationships with local authorities at
