Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with district coordinator (ULO)/SPOs for implementation of agreed Coastal DRR program activities.
- Support to implement the Coastal Disaster Risk Reduction (CDRR) program (operational and financial management) for ensuring the Program objectives.
- Support to conduct different assessment such as Enhance Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (EVCA), impact assessment, baseline survey, midterm and final evaluation.
- Prepare/support to prepare monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly annual plans along with required budget for Coastal DRR program.
- Prepare and document project progress reports, successes, challenges and project experiences to assist organizational learning.
- Prepare/support to prepare different Tools, guideline, ToR, IEC materials and training module in coordination with SPOs for Coastal DRR program.
- Coordinate, supervise and monitor Coastal DRR program activities at community and school.
- Follow-up and monitor of the progress of community DRR actions.
- Guide and supervise the Assistant Program Officer-APO/Finance and Program Support Assistant-FPSA/Community Organizer-CO in organizing all planned trainings, awareness campaigns and dialogues as per requirements.
- Coordinate and ensure collaboration with others program of organization and ready to work to respond to any natural disaster or emergency anywhere in the respective district or in Bangladesh.
- To participate in various workshop, seminar, meeting and others events (GoB & others organizations).
- Ensure program resources are used properly and immediately bring to the attention of the district coordinator, Coastal DRR Program /team in case of any misuse of wrongdoing.
- Organize monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly program team coordination meetings and to share the meeting minutes with concerned person.
- Developing/capturing, case studies, stories, the most significant changes, visibility and sharing with BDRCS, IFRC, American Red Cross (AmRC) at field level.
- Ensuring all Program files, records, archives and databases (documentation, meeting minutes, etc.) are kept in good order and updated when required.
- Check and verify all Program bill, vouchers and forward to BDRCS financial department.
- Undertake any other appropriate duties that may be required by the BDRCS authority.
- Administrative role:
- Manage office supply stock and place order including preparation of reports on expenses and office budget.
- Organize a filing system for important and confidential office documents at District level.
- Provide assistance to ULO, FAO, APO and FPSA to maintain monthly work plan of program activities.
- Accountability:
- The Program Officer shall be accountable to the Program Director/Director-DRM, Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager and respective Senior Program Officer-Coastal DRR Program.
Educational Qualification:
- Masters Degree in Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Development Studies or Social Science or related discipline (Education qualification will be relaxed in case of potential/ experienced candidates).
Work Experience:
- At least 6 year(s)
Others Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years experience in managing Disaster Risk Management programs (Working experience in Coastal belt area will be preferred).
- Strong project cycle management skills: assessments, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and strategic planning skills.
- Skills and abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and staff management skills.
- Good facilitation and presentation, communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and Team work skills.
- Working with different groups and nationalities.
- Sound analytical and influencing skills.
- Ability to multi-task and cope with competing demands under tight deadlines, identify priority activities and assignments, adjust priorities as required.
- Strong initiative and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to humanitarian principles.
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English and Bangla.
- Computer skills on MS word, Excel, Power point.

- Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles and values of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement.
- Act at all times in accordance with the Code of Conduct and strong ethics with an ability to manage confidential data.
- Common understanding on Gender issues, CEA mechanism including other cross-cutting issues.
- Ability and willingness to travel and stay in the field.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Experience to work with a humanitarian response will be an added advantage.
- Work experience within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement will be preferable.
- Lateral relationships:
- Establish and ensure effective working relationships with members in the team and supporting partners.
- Assist District Coordinator/Senior Program Officers/Assistant Program Manager/Program Manager /Program team for any requirements on the basis of the Program.
- Age Limit : 36 years maximum (age limit will be relaxed in case of potential candidate).
