Assistant/ Deputy Manager - Logistics (Transport, Distribution and Dispatch)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Transport, Distribution and Dispatch Department of Premier Cement Mills Limited for smooth delivery for 24x7 with team work.
  • Plan for delivery according to the demand and arrange the delivery.
  • Ensure on time distribution of right amount of product to the right destination along with maintaining the quality of the products
  • Deliver products according to sales order and prepare receipt for payments/delivery (challan) as par order requisitions.
  • Coordination with field sales for delivery & Service purpose.
  • Maintain record in the ERP
  • Supervise delivery reconciliation with packing department physical vs ERP software at set time interval.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and customer satisfaction at all times by ensuring that cement is dispatched on time, to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities.
  • Ensure implementation of strategic business objectives, strategies and plans in support of the companys strategic goals.
  • Ensure the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives.
  • Follow-up complaints from internal & external customers and take initiative to resolve with team.
  • Supervise key terminal staff to monitor operations at the company truck terminals, ensuring workload is completed as par customer expectations: efficiently, safely, and compliant with all applicable regulations.
  • Work with other stakeholders to determine staffing levels, job descriptions and assist in the recruitment of drivers and support staff.
  • Periodically train and counsel the driver and helper about road safety rules and regulations, discipline, performance management.
  • Plan with Executive Management to determine the strategic direction of the Transport Department.
  • Update and implement Divisional Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Ensure profitability by controlling costs and enhancing trip performance.
  • Full responsibility for fleet maintenance
  • Coordinate with third party transporters to ensure truck availability always.
  • Coordinate and inspect the complete documentation including drivers and vehicle licenses.
  • Review and report logistics/fleet performance against plans.
  • Build good working relationship with Regulatory Agencies to ensure smooth operation of the fleet.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline, Masters degree in any discipline
  • Most preferable Major in Accounting
  • Training/Trade Course: Supply Chain Management
  • Skills Required: Analytical Skill, Distribution

Work Experience:

  • At least 7 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):

    Others Requirements:

    • Leading Teams/Team Management, Efficiency Management, Lean Management.
    • The applicant must have the mentality to work at field (worker) level.
    • Able to work in ERP software
    • Able to work in MS Office especially MS excel worksheet
    • Good knowledge & substantial working experience in the relevant field.
