Roles & Responsibilities:
- To develop students for entry to industry through the delivery of engaging Practical and Theoretical Culinary Arts classes
- To stimulate interest and learning around the area of Culinary Arts
- Major focus of student development in the areas of culinary food production, food hygiene, menu development and food cost control.
- TO ASSIST SENIOR CHEF WITH:
- Food Purchasing and Management of the Departments Food Cost Budget.
- Maintaining Kitchen Safety, Cleanliness and Maintenance of all Kitchen Assets
- Menu Planning and working closely with Front Office Service lecturers to create a vibrant, high quality, commercial training restaurant that mirrors industry standards.
- Stewarding Area and All Period Maintenance and Deep Cleaning of Kitchen Equipment and Kitchen and Areas
- TEACHING AND LEARNING
- Preparing lesson Plans to achieve learning outcomes
- Conducting needs assessment and adapting plans to meet the needs of different learners
- Clearly communicating learning outcomes and expectations at the beginning of each class
- Using a variety of methodologies to achieve an engaging learning environment
- Developing learning materials that are well communicated, clear and aligned with module syllabus
- Setting homework to further develop learning
- Incorporating both theory and practical elements into classes
- Monitoring student performance and providing constructive, useful feedback to facilitate improvement
- Carrying out intervention with students as and when required
- Coaching and advising when necessary
- Marking and moderating assessments
- Integrating media and IT into the delivery of classes to accommodate the needs of todays young learners
- Carrying out formative and summative assessment that is fair, unbiased and effective
- Maintaining discipline through effective classroom management
- Carry out teaching tasks in a sustainable manner
- Maintaining a clean, safe study environment for students
Educational Qualification:
- Degree in Culinary Arts/Pastry related subject
Work Experience:
- At least 2 year(s)
Others Requirements:
- 2 + Years working experience as Chef in 4/5* Hotel/Restaurant
- 1-2 Years Teaching/Training Experience Preferred
- Excellent Command of English
- Literate with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Immaculate Presentation
