Assistant Project Manager/ Protection Coordinator

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Procurement of project materials, equipment and supplies
  • Liaise, consult & build strong relationships and win confidence of relevant stakeholders including, but not limited to, communities, Government departments at both the local and provincial levels, and other NGOs
  • Conduct and support ongoing monitoring of Protection activities, through frequent visits to office and field sites, to ensure minimum standards for Protection and progress toward targets
  • Periodically review and manage M&E systems for Protection programming, in collaboration with MEAL team, including the development of M+E tools and methodology, management of reporting mechanisms and information flow, and analysis of program data and impact
  • In consultation with the PM, ERC, design and assist in implement monitoring & evaluation systems, including baseline/end line, to track the projects progress, capture lessons learned and ensures that appropriate information is disseminated
  • Be responsible for ensuring management of resources for fulfillment of program deliverables and commitments for objectives/indicators and accountability to donor requirements
  • Support strategy to build prevention and community-based mechanisms for Protection prevention and response.
  • Assist in compile the project reports in collaboration with PM and ERC.
  • Participate and assist with the selection of new project staff as they become needed
  • Provide guidance and opportunity for all field staff to develop and maintain professional capacity and currency within their assigned fields of responsibilities and expertise
  • Provide professional guidance and direction to any project staff and volunteers in all phases of their work in regards to implementation and monitoring
  • Participate and assist with the performance appraisal of all project staff (where applicable).
  • Provide regular reports to the PM and ERC regarding the development and performance of the project staff (where applicable).
  • Ensure appropriate identification/selection, program support, and capacity-building of local partners, including program technical review of partnership agreements.
  • Build strong coordination between/across Protection sub-sectors and sites, including at office and field level
  • Identify and advocate on key protection concerns and share patterns and trends in coordination forum.
  • Support in building referral mechanisms and Protection mainstreaming within other sectors and service providers.
  • Ensure active beneficiary participation in program design, implementation, and evaluation, as well as empowerment initiatives such as community committees and community-led projects, and inclusion of vulnerable groups
  • Report to overall Protection team and/or direct supervisor as needed on important issues that are cross-cutting, have urgent implications, and/or require supervisor feedback and decision-making
  • Represent ADRA with networking and participation in various Government, Donor and NGO forums.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project manager and any other concerned personnel.

Educational Qualification:

  • University degree in international relations/development, social science, law, psychology, or another related field; MA/S or other related advanced degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • At least 6 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • Demonstrable technical expertise in the assessment of, design, and delivery of relevant Protection programming
  • Experience with participatory approaches and working with vulnerable groups, including gender mainstreaming and with persons with disabilities
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Humanitarian Principles and Protection frameworks, tools, and minimum standards.
  • Strong program management skills, with substantial experience managing large portfolios of programming
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in internal and external coordination and representation of programs.
  • Professional, hard-working, and a self-motivated person.
  • Very strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; collaborative approach with the ability to work within different cultural environments.
  • Fluency in Bangla and local language
  • Positive and solutions-oriented leader focused on team-building, problem-solving, and support to the teams and beneficiary communities.
  • Flexibility and can cope with stressful workload and working with limited resources
  • Able to undertake travel as required.
