Roles & Responsibilities:
- Ensure the CP case management system implemented by your Tdh field team is consistent with and aligned with the Bangladeshi CP system and adheres to the main inter-agency standardized operating procedures and tools developed for Cox Bazar (interagency forms, information sharing protocol, CM practical guidance).
- Support the National Coordinator and Management in planning and organizing capacity building sessions on case management & key protection topics based on observations of the quality of field work and key knowledge gaps.
- Provide daily on-the-job mentoring and technical guidance on cases to the caseworkers in the working area and ensure high priority cases are reported immediately to the National Coordinator and Management.
- Ensure that case workers thoroughly follow the case management steps ensuring that each step is properly implemented and documented in the child’s file, conduct file audits to assess adherence to this.
- Make sure that for each case, consent is sought, confidentiality is ensured, individual child’s care plan is implemented and followed-up on regular basis and referrals are made timely and in a quality manner
- Ensure referrals for family tracing are alerted to the National Coordinator and Management and are prioritized and happen timely.
- Ensure the referral pathway for your working area is known by all case workers and support this by forming relationships with partner agencies to facilitate better referrals.
- Prepare inputs to reports with regards to case numbers from your working area, according to the project documents (weekly reports, monthly reports).
- Maintain an up-to-date case tracker and submit it timely on a weekly basis; use the case tracker to support case management activities through monitoring caseloads and key trends
- Ensure your team respects confidentiality of data (including paper and electronic files).
- Ensure regular communication with line manager on field’ updates, achievements and challenges via meetings, reports and ad hoc communication upon request and needs.
- Report concerns related to the quality or delivery of case management activities to management immediately.
- Establish regular exchanges with the Psycho social Support Team to ensure that children in need of protection are timely identified and adequately supported through CFS activities and the roving PSS teams.
- Ensure the project activities are integrated in the Bangladeshi child protection system and humanitarian coordination practices and guidelines.
- Identify and propose trainings for her/his team related to child protection principles and best practices.
- Report high priority cases identified by the case workers to the management team immediately. Strict confidentiality must be respected.
- Identify needs and draft capacity building plan for staffers under her/his supervision coordinating with implementing partners and Case Management Project Manager, and help providing appropriate training, mentoring, coaching and capacity building of the team under her/his responsibility.
- Organize team meetings, cases conferences, and provide weekly program update and staff planning.
- Follow up staff attendances, leaves and provide monthly attendance sheets to her/his manager to facilitate payroll process
- Ensure regular feedback to the staff under her/his responsibility and appraisal process when needed
- Strive to develop and maintain a positive working atmosphere, provide encouragement and praise to case workers for good work
- Support disciplinary measures application if needed
- Conduct daily field visits and organize regular staff meetings in line with supervision needs and other matters;
- Coordinate with other Tdh sectors to ensure mainstreaming and implementation of standardized activities, particularly the PSS department;
- Liaise with humanitarian actors, authorities and community in and outside the camps to increase quality and effectiveness of case-management service provision;
- Ensure Tdh Case Management services and well known within your working area through strong representation of Tdh in meetings and general camp presence.
- Participate in camp level site management and protection meetings as agreed with management.
Educational Qualification:
- Professional diploma or University degree in social work.
Work Experience:
- At least 3 year(s)
Others Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience working with children in need of protection
- Correct IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet, Excel)
- Previous experience with a child protection organization
- Very good knowledge of key child protection issues and best practices
- Very good knowledge of the child protection system in Bangladesh
- Strong interpersonal and social skills
- Leadership and management skills
- Strong technical and critical analysis abilities
- Well-developed organizational skills
- Required qualities: compassionate, empathetic, motivated, proactive, autonomous, rigorous, organized.
- Agree to comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and promote Child Safeguarding policy, Policy on the Protection Against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and the Policy on (Sexual) Harassment and Abuse of Authority.
- Report serious cases of abuse on children that she/he would be aware of in Tdh’s intervention locations. Strict confidentiality must be respected.
- Adhere to and enforce current administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.
- Tdh intervenes without any affiliation for politics, religion or financial profit. He/she will direct his or her activities and engagements without preoccupation of political, racial or religious affiliation.
