Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) for developmental and emergency health projects
• Ensure timely implementation of health projects including Violence Prevention and Response (VP&R) project
• Ensure project activities and results are monitored and evaluated based on Monitoring and Evaluation Plan and reported based on indicator
• Produce monthly, half-yearly and annual report of health projects including VP&R and submit to donor
• Develop health related project concept notes /project proposal in consultation with BDRCS and line manager and submit to potential donor
• Assist line manager for effective implementation of Violence and Response project through BDRCSs Maternal and Child Health centres
• Ensuring linkages with relevant government department in Bangladesh, and ensure coordination with UN and other NGOs
• Participate health cluster meeting and share the updates with BDRCS and IFRC colleagues
• Prepare weekly health bulletin and share with Asia Pacific Regional Office
• Develop IFRCs operational plan on health and support regional office to raise funds
• Organise and facilitate relevant health trainings, workshops and meetings in collaboration with BDRCS
• Respect and follow the key Federation technical documents (Health & Care policies, Strategy 2020, GWSI, MDGs, SPHERE, PHAST etc.,) and contribute where appropriate to the Global Federation Health agenda.
• Provide any other support as required by line manager and management of IFRC

Educational Qualification:

• MBBS, Bachelor/Masters in Public Health, Epidemiology or other relevant Public health subject
• Training on Project Management including Monitoring and Evaluation-preferred
• Training on Project Proposal writing

Work Experience:

• At least 5 year(s)

Others Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience and achievements in developmental and emergency health projects are required
• Experience on working emergency health preparedness and response-preferred
• Experience of project planning & budgeting, supervision and management to include monitoring and evaluation
• Experience of producing project proposal/project concept notes, narrative and financial Reports
• Experience in the management of outbreaks of vector-borne diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, or other health emergencies
• Fluent in both Bangla and English
• Self-supporting in computers (Windows, spreadsheets, word processing, email and internet)
• Skilled in training, mentoring and coaching individuals and groups, as appropriate-preferred
• Highly motivated, self-starter able to lead a process, engage others and create ownership
• Flexible and willing to deal with ambiguity, changes and challenges
• Able to prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Willing to travel and operate in a demanding working environment
• Fluently spoken and written English
