Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design and document database architecture
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
- Oversees backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and fail over
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Actively participate in development and customization of Software applications
- Perform scheduled maintenance operations on Oracle and SQL server databases for the purpose of ensuring efficient program operations.
- Version control and patching of database.
Educational Qualification:
- Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science
- Preferred Professional Certification: Vendor certification on DBA track (OCP, MCSE or MCTS or MCITP etc.) would be added advantage
Work Experience:
- At least 3 year(s)
Others Requirements:
- A good knowledge on Oracle Database (Backup & Recovery, Performance Tuning, Security Management, RAC and Data Guard)
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Having practical experience on diagnosis, root cause analysis, troubleshooting and corrective measures
- Sound knowledge on Windows and Linux server
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Flexible, team player, "get-it-done" personality
- Ability to organize and plan work independently
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
