Roles & Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Senior Management Team of Rohingya Response Program, the incumbent will lead and manage the set up and scale up of all Supply Chain functions and responsibilities related to this emergency response program.
  • S/he will also provide direct and technical line management support to Supply Chain staff and teams both at Coxs Bazar and field levels.
  • Under guidance and supervision of DTL - Ops, the job-holder will support the Response Team Leader and other members of the Senior Management Team (SMT) on the best use of Save the Childrens resources mainly by (a) ensuring "value for money", (b) adapting best practices within the sector, and (c) upgrading the capacity of staff within the department.
  • The role will include all Supply Chain support to large and/or complex programs which comprises management of all emergency supply chain functions; develop/implement the program logistics policies and procedures for the management of the supply chain, including logistics, procurement, transport and distribution, warehousing and stock management in accordance with Total Inventory Management (TIM) along with the management of vehicle fleets, communication systems, and assets. As such, the role may include remote management, management of multiple field bases or direct line management of large projects or functions, thematic interventions, and complexity.
  • The post-holder will learn lessons both from internal and external sources/environment to help improve future practices including organizational efficiencies.
  • In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the position will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours.

Educational Qualification:

  • Master degree in supply chain management/ business field/ equivalent from reputed University.
  • Considering quality experience education may relaxed

Work Experience:

  • At least 10 year(s)

Others Requirements:

  • 10 years or more experiences in leading supply chain and operational management units on which 5 years in a senior management level position; prior experience in any international NGO(s) within a complex/large scale emergency response/humanitarian environments is preferred
  • Sound understanding and experience in all technical areas of supply chain operations including logistics, procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management, asset management, communications, and security
  • Experience of developing / implementing a complex international supply chain to support different types of programmes, and coordinating resources to meet the programme objectives
  • Proven track-record in managing and supervising others in supply chain, including training, capacity building & mentoring
  • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong communication (written and spoken) skills in English and interpersonal skills with experience in managing multicultural teams
