Roles & Responsibilities:
- Under the direct supervision of the GBV Operations Officer and GBV NOA and overall guidance of the Head of Sub Office in Coxs Bazar, Bangladesh, the successful candidate assist in coordination and monitoring of psychosocial and survivor-centred case management services and support in the Women and Girls Safe Space. He/she will assist in monitoring individual (through the case management process) and group-based psychosocial activities for survivors of GBV. He/she will also coordinate information collection and advocacy related to GBV and health gaps and services. This position supervises the GBV Case Workers and activities carried out in safe spaces for assisting in the day-to-day implementation of the Coxs Bazar related programme as well as other projects in Bangladesh.
- The incumbent will be assigned to inter alia, the following tasks:
- Reinforce adherence to the GBV guiding principles throughout all protection activities
- Coordinate response work with clients, including case management and psychosocial interventions, adheres to best-practice principles when working with survivors of GBV.
- Directly supervise the GBV Case Workers.
- Hold regular planning and debriefing sessions with team members at community based safe spaces.
- Support staff professional development and foster a positive team spirit to encourage innovative and quality programming.
- Identify training needs for GBV Case Workers and support organization and facilitation of training to meet those needs, in collaboration with the organizations GBV Program Manager.
- Work closely with GBV staff, community volunteers to plan activities that respond to identified needs.
- Prepare and maintain/update detailed work plan(s) that support and achieve activities.
- Provide direct support and ongoing mentoring to GBV Case Workers as they provide services to women and girl survivors of GBV. This will include assessment of client needs; basic, crisis counselling (and in some contexts further individual counselling); development of action plans with clients; support to clients in pursuing services and support.
- Participate in development and implementation of a series of age-appropriate and specialized group emotional services to be provided to vulnerable women and girls, aimed at meeting the needs of survivors of GBV.
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of age appropriate and relevant psychosocial activities for women and adolescent girls.
- Identify concerns related to and support adherence to GBV referral protocols by all relevant organizations and agencies.
- Support the identification of GBV focal points in health centres.
Educational Qualification:
- University degree, preferably in psychology, womens studies, social work or public health with minimum of four years-experience in the field of migration, IDP and refugee assistance and protection (including specific experience on Child Protection);
- High school degree, preferably in psychology, womens studies, social work or public health with minimum of six years-experience in the field of migration, IDP and refugee assistance and protection (including specific experience on Child Protection);
Work Experience:

- Experience in emergency operations and liaison with other UN and non-UN humanitarian actors.
- Knowledge of the region and/or country an advantage
- Contribute to the development of work plans;
- Counseling and training experience.
- Clear understanding of gender, human rights, issues surrounding violence against women and girls
- Experience working in emergency responses targeting vulnerable women and girls
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients
- Knowledge and experience with community outreach and mobilization
- Experience facilitating trainings, seminars, conferences and workshops and mentoring for IOM staff and other stakeholders when needed.
- Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
- Excellent communication, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with survivors of all ages, background and diversity
- Demonstrated commitment to womens empowerment and protection through current/ previous
- volunteer or other relevant experience is an added advantage
- Familiarity with principles of monitoring and evaluation. Experience in writing brief narrative reports.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Accepts and gives constructive criticism;

- Meets deadline, cost, and quality requirements for outputs;
- Monitors own work to correct errors;
