Roles & Responsibilities:
- Technical Quality
- Ensure that Girl Shine activities (including implementation of the life-skills curriculum, parent/caregiver sessions, community outreach and integration to adolescent girls needs into womens friendly space services such as GBV case management) adheres to a women-, girl- and survivor-centred and feminist approach and that staff are supported to build and strengthen their practice in this area; and -
- Provide direct capacity building support to the Girl Shine Senior Officers to develop their skills, competencies and practice in: WPE and GBV/VAWG guiding principles; survivor-centred support; supervision of adolescent girls life-skills and awareness sessions, supporting parent/caregiver sessions, girl focused community outreach, capacity development for womens friendly space (WFS) services to provide quality adolescent girls response services, monitoring and evaluation tasks; and other areas as identified;
- Working with the Girl Shine Senior Officers, ensure Girl Shine and WPE training and mentoring is provided to:
- WFS staff on facilitation of the Girl Shine life skills curriculum, monitoring curriculum progress and building the capacity of case management services to response safely to the needs of adolescent girls GBV survivors in line with the guiding principles;
- WFS community outreach teams on outreach to engage the most vulnerable girls in Girl Shine activities and to make referral for adolescent girls to WFS services;
- Ensure that all components of the Girl Shine life-skills package are implemented according to the guidelines and that regular monitoring and feedback mechanisms are in place that -
- Establish and oversee survivor-centered referral pathways for adolescent girls between the Girl Shine project, and WFS SRH and GBV services ;
- Manage the procurement of materials for the Girl Shine project, ensure activities have the required resources;
- Ensure that ethical and sound data collection and information management is implemented for appropriate data analysis, planning, evaluation, and advocacy; working closely with the Snr WPE Manager and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team
- Staff Supervision & Development
- Directly supervise the Girl Shine Senior Officers;
- Maintain open, supportive, and professional relationships with all team members (IRC and partner organisation), promoting a strong team spirit and providing management support and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform their roles;
- Convening the team on a regular basis to review programming, progress, successes and challenges and make timely adjustments to the activities; and reporting back to the Snr WPE Manager;
- Ensure timely completion and submission of monthly time sheets, probation reviews, appraisals and annual performance reviews; and provide regular constructive feedback to develop their practice;
- Assist with the recruitment of Girl Shine staff;
- Ensure regular communication and close collaboration with the Snr WPE Manager.
- Monitoring, Reporting, Budget Management
- Monitor and consolidate information collected from weekly/monthly and staff activity reports; and actively work with the MEAL Officer to ensure accurate data and information;
- Monitor budget spending in line with the spending plans for Girl Shine activities, work with the Snr WPE Manager in developing remedial plans where necessary to ensure budgets are optimally utilized;
- Support implementation and ensure adherence to grant work plans, spending plans and monitoring and evaluation plans;
- Where requested by the supervisor, contribute in writing high-quality and timely IRC and donor reports on activities and achievements, supporting the dissemination of Girl Shine learning in the relevant forums;
- Take the lead on supply chain, finance and logistics tasks in relation to the operations of the Girl Shine activities including identifying and responding to procurement needs;
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor degree in any discipline
- Women studies, social work, social sciences, human rights, humanities or other relevant area or the equivalent in professional work.
Work Experience:
- At least 4 year(s)

- Only females are allowed to apply
- Proven experience in GBV programming for women and girls - essential; and experience in adolescent girls programming- highly preferred;
- Experience in program/project management;
- Experience in directly supporting women and girl survivors of male violence;
- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading, building and strengthening a program team of 3 + staff in a dynamic, challenging and changing context;
- Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring and building capacity of staff;
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating practical workshops and learning on this issues outlined in the areas of responsibility for this position;
